Rotsterarsil 1.2.4-5 by mleiv Rotsterarsil 1.2.4-5 by mleiv
Part A (2012.06.11)

Every time I watch someone drop on the silks, I am awed. I know it is basically just wrapping in the right pattern and relying on gravity to do the rest, but fuck if I'll ever have the guts to do anything like that. Friggin' brass ovaries on those girls, I swear!

Part B (2012.06.18)

I would like to note that Madison's former ballerina status is drawn from the fact that a huge majority of serious aerial artists come from a background in gymnastics or ballet. It was only later I heard of the boobs!=ballerina problem. :P

Note: My S.O.'s photography class final (on hypnogogic hallucinations) has finally been posted online, and I helped (a lot), so I wanted to show it off. There are seven pictures in all, and these are my favorites:

* Aliens: [link]
* Intruder: [link]
* Ghost: [link]
* Hag: [link]

Hey.  It seems the site for this comic has disappeared.  Where can I find it now?  InkOutbreak and Rotsterarsil.com just lead to empty pages.  I really like this comic and would like to keep reading it.

ah I love your style here, so warm, expressive and harmony like.
Colorscheme is also very beautiful, and doesn't pop like I'd excepted/believed. They work on very nicely.
hmm what else to say, I like the whole comic, plot seems very interesting and that ... that silk drop thing... is freaking me out :D

I can't help but be awed by how ridiculously DIFFERENT this comic is from the Locked Maze. There's a resonance to the styles, but the types of characters, the tone, the color schemes, everything is different.

Word. Although most of it is reactionary. Over time there will be more similarities, I'm pretty sure.

Yay martial arts!

Keep posting the vote link! I don't frequent the web comic sites, but if the link is right there in your deviation notes, I'll click for a vote each time you post. :)

It's been a while since I've commented on anything you've posted and I just wanted to drop a line and tell you how much I love the flow, color, and shape of these panels a great deal. Much of your work flows beautifully, and I think this piece in particular is an excellent example of just how detailed and lovely your art is.

Thanks for posting!

Aw, thanks! I probably fool around with layout a lot more than is wise, but as I seem completely incapable of doing the traditional comic book angled-edge fancy stuff, I gotta do SOMETHING to make it more than a set of 9 boxes. :P

Hahaha. That's okay, I think your own [none-angled-edged] style fits your work quite well... adds its own sort of personal atmosphere. ^_^

That's odd, for some reason I read the panels in the intended order despite the unorthodox flow. I wonder if it works for everyone.

Final frame has a typo (What did you say you were you doing before)

Other than that, I'm getting realy interested in the world you're building here

Me too. I musta done like 4 different roughs before landing on that one. And I still look at it thinking I could have done a better job if I knew more about aerial arts (but I don't have the social skills to chat 'em up or the physical ones to learn it myself).

The number of aerial artists who are also avid comic readers is probably slim. Thus, I think it's safe for you to eyeball the whole thing. Looks convincing to me.

You never know. I thought the number of ex-mormon fairy fantasy comic fans was pretty slim too. But, not so much. :)

There's OTHER ex-mormon fairy fantasy comics? Seriously? Could you start a club or something?

There aren't at present, but based on my experience, there are lots of fans who WISH there were.

This is my favorite page so far. The movement of her spinning through the air down the silks is such a dynamic progression!

Brass ovaries, heh! I've gotten to climb/play around in silks a bit, but not with any training, and certainly nothing like those drops. I have a friend who has been taking lessons the past few months, and I haven't gotten to see what she's learned yet, but I know she is loving it, and I'm so envious! It's really expensive though, so I can't join her. :(
