This page is awesome! I really like your designs for the fairy people - they're all so color-coordinated! The panels showing Holly's reaction/decision-making are really nicely paced, and I love that crazy fire effect.
Thanks! You know, I tried initially to design different outfits for the fairies (they aren't superheroes, after all, I'm sure they have more than one set of clothes, ha), but it was just too complicated and then they were harder to identify. So, they are in their over-the-top costume clothes all the time. S'dim ots, I like to draw them in all their colorful finery.
Maybe it's not a power persay, just kind of a heightened sixth sense. Due to her personality type and all the things she's dealing with and has gone through, this 'ower' of hers seems to fit perfectly.
You know, I never thought about it that way. One of the rules of this story (and I am giving away plot here, I suppose, but not terribly important plot) is that Holly have no special powers like your typical fantasy protagonist. She is just an everyday person in extraordinary circumstances. But on reflection, yes, being able to see/hear/run from certain death is definitely a special mystical power of some degree. *shrug* Oh well. I can roll with that.
Yup. I called this scene "Stacking the Non-Bodies" in the script. I hope the real world coffee shop is not offended that I just burned them to the ground and killed everyone inside... :/ Like with Squatters, it's only cause I love them!
Awesome!
Very interesting
